It wasn’t the kind of job I’d have an easy ride proofreading at the end – the entire packaging was in Greek. But stylistically I was not bound to any folkloristic constrains. A modern take on Mimis Plessas’ music, arranged by my friend – another talented vibist – Christos Rafalides.
The New York based Jazz musician has more than his family still firmly rooted back in his native Greece. It’s a constant pool of inspiration for him and working with Plessas became a dream come true. The fantastic Evi Siamanta gave this album the best voice it could have received.
The album “Echo” also marked the first release of Christos’ newly founded label Emarel Music, for which we provided the branding. Emarel stems from the abriviation MRL – Music, Rhythm, Lyrics.
Christos also heads the Group Manhattan Vibes.
