Another great – and very Scottish – concert series of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, lead by director Tommy Smith. With special guest, Glaswegian saxophonist and composer Bobby Wellins, the big band set out to perform his “Culloden Moor Suite” and “Caledonian Suite”.

Glasgow born Bobby Wellins finds musical inspiration in great Scottish historical events and literature. His Culloden Moor Suite is an eloquent celebration of one of Scotland’s most haunting historical events and locations while his Caledonian Suite was originally inspired by James Barke’s books about Robert Burns and richly evokes the sounds of Scotland’s landscape and life.
