As a newly discovered passion and exciting addition to our offering, we’ve recently started to spend a substantial amount of time and investment in the production of artists’ video EPKs (Electronic Press Kits) and short video presentations. The footage for this extended project in support of the “Signing” album release (Motéma Music, 2012) by The Joe Locke / Geoffrey Keezer Group came from US videographer Marie Le Claire from New York.
Using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, we optimised the original rough footage and b-roll which had been filmed during the recording session of the album in November 2011 in Maryland, USA at bassist Mike Pope’s home studio. In addition, we mixed in excerpts from a previously televised live performance, video and audio interviews, voice over, animated album artwork and stills, using the Ken Burns effect.
The result is a 12 minute mini documentary, which will soon be also released in a compacted (abridged) format to cater for the more impatient and time conscious web audience.
