Topping the US jazz radio listing
We are thrilled to announce that Joe Locke’s latest Motéma release “Lay Down My Heart – Blues & Ballads Vol 1” has just hit the No. 1 position in the July 1st JazzWeek charts, making it the currently most played CD on US Jazz radio stations.
Connecting with an audience
Joe conceived this project as People Music that provides “respite for folks who work hard every day and need an opportunity to slow down and be reacquainted with that certain ‘something’ which eludes most of us in the midst of the whirlwind which is modern life.” The album’s luscious vibraphone quartet renditions of blues and ballads from Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” to Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” could not have fulfilled this aspiration any better.
Joe’s exquisite instincts and sensitivity for moving an audience and communicating through music, assembling the perfect band to connect with the listener, and picking the right material to hit the nerve that lets people engage and ultimately feel good, have once more culminated in a stunning recording.
